With extensive experience in financial leadership, Susan has built a reputation for helping organizations navigate change while strengthening the foundation of their finance function. She works collaboratively with leadership teams, governing boards, auditors, and operational leaders to improve financial reporting, enhance internal controls, identify opportunities for greater efficiency, and support long-term organizational success.
Susan's expertise includes financial reporting, healthcare finance, reimbursement methodologies and revenue enhancement, profitability analysis, process improvement, and operational efficiency analysis. Throughout her career, she has guided organizations through leadership transitions, strengthened accounting operations, improved revenue cycle processes, and helped leaders better understand the financial story behind their organizations. She has a unique ability to translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insights for executive leadership teams, governing boards, and other stakeholders, enabling organizations to make informed decisions with confidence.
Susan is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA, non-practicing) and holds a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification. She believes strong financial leadership goes beyond reporting the numbers: it is about helping leaders understand what the numbers mean, identifying opportunities for improvement, and making decisions that position their organizations for long-term success.
Outside of work, Susan enjoys mentoring young people through her church, volunteering with Dress for Success as a Success Counselor, and helping others navigate their career journeys. She also enjoys birdwatching, walking, sewing, and other creative pursuits.
